Wildfire Aftermath Affects Near and Deer

Since the Carlton Complex ripped through Okanogan County, we’ve talked about the potential repercussions for the wildlife in the area, especially deer. The state Fish and Wildlife Department is taking action to mitigate the tough winter ahead for those foragers, supplying food throughout southern Okanogan County, but also allowing more hunting permits this fall to reduce the number of deer, and therefore mouths to feed.
