Grant PUD Begins Wanapum Reservoir Refill

The Grant County PUD continues efforts to fix the cracked Wanapum Dam spillway. 14 of the 35 steel anchors are now installed, allowing them to raise the reservoir behind the dam 17 feet, about two thirds of the total draw down. Dan spoke with Grant PUD spokesman Chuck Allen for the details.

As 2014 continues to wind down, it’s that time of year once again when the annual apple harvest wraps up. Growers and shippers released their official storage report Tuesday and this year’s crop is a bumper, to say the least. Just how many apples were grown in our state this year? Dan spoke with Todd Fryhover, President of the WA Apple Commission.

Wenatchee School District Revamping Risk Policies

Two tragic events — a drowning and three alleged rapes — in the Wenatchee School District in the last three years have rattled district administrators to make a change. Board members and staff now look to update current and potentially implement new risk management policies. KOHO News Intern Bryce Newberry was at the board meeting last night and filed this report on the latest in the district’s policy revamp.
