Will Frost and Snow Bring a Bad End to Apple Season?

November 03, 2011

    It’s cold out

there. DARN cold! Some areas in the valley may even get a dusting of snow today (or did get already?).

For most of us that just means cranking up the heat and throwing on some extra layers. But

for apple growers struggling with a short supply of pickers and a crop that was late to ripen, the cold could be a

big problem.

To see if the weather means a sudden and bad end for the apple season,

Isaac Kaplan-Woolner called the Washington Grower’s Clearinghouse Association.
