Wenatchee Valley Sports Council Hosts Weekend Youth Sports Fair

The Wenatchee Convention Center will serve as a one-stop-shop Saturday for parents who want to get their

kids involved in youth sports. It’s a first-of-its-kind event sponsored by the Wenatchee Valley Sports

Council. Steve Hair talked with Council Marketing Director Eric Granstrom about the Wenatchee Youth Sports Fair. .

. The Saturday event features 36 different youth sports organizations ranging from baseball, softball, football,

hockey, soccer, swimming, the list goes on and on. Granstrom says the Wenatchee Valley is blessed with a wealth of

opportunities for kids to get involved in team sports activities. . . And Granstrom says the Wenatchee Valley

Sports Council is quickly becoming an information clearinghouse for everything related to Youth sports. . As an

industry youth sports has become a big business and a significant contributor to the Wenatchee’s economic

development. Granstrom explains . . The doors open at the Convention Center Saturday morning at 10. There will

also be some non-traditional youth sports activities such as the Wenatchee Valley Youth Circus, Irish Dance and

rugby. Kids will also have a chance to kick a goal with the Wenatchee Sportsplex and the Wenatchee Valley Racket

and Athletic Club will set up a miniature tennis court. Mascots from some of our local teams will also be there to
