Wenatchee USPS Distribution Center Shuttered?

"margin: 0in 0in 0pt">It’s no secret that the US Postal Service is awash

in red ink, losing billions of dollars in revenue to online bill paying, emails (or texts) replacing letters, and

less parcels moving through their system. What may come as a surprise is that the USPS is considering

shuttering a local distribution center to help balance their budget. The Wenatchee distribution center is one

of over 300 around the nation up for consideration of closing after the new year. A distribution center is

not the post office you stop by to grab your mail, but a hub directing all that mail to post offices around the

region. Postal officials say without the distribution center in Wenatchee, it could take an extra day or two

for your mail, letter, or correspondence to get wehre it needs to go. KOHO’s Clint Strand caught up

with the USPS’s Ernie Swanson for more information on timelines, and how much longer it could take your

letter to reach its destination if the distribution center is
