Wenatchee School Board Extends Superintendent's Contract

March 10, 2011

Wenatchee public

schools superintendent, Brian Flones received a strong vote of support from his school board this week. The board

approved a one-year extension to Flones current contract. Board president, Kevin Gilbert praised Flones for his

leadership and budget management . .
Flones’ three-year contract now extends to June 2014. The extension

does not affect Flones salary but the Board has increased his monthly travel allowance and added nine extra per

diem days for out-of-town activities.
The board increased his “mentor compensation” benefit as an incentive

for him to take responsibility for the development and training of the district’s leadership staff and

administrative interns.
