Washington Voters Split on Marijuana Legalization

January 06, 2012

A recent poll suggests marijuana legalization advocates may have some serious

campaigning to do. Washington appears to be divided on the issue. I-502 would allow marijuana to be sold in

stores.
The campaign turned in the requisite signatures last month, and the legislature

will either pass the law or it will end up before voters in November. Advocates say it is about taxing and

regulating a thriving black market.
But is the public prepared to legalize marijuana in

Washington State? And just how telling is the latest opinion poll showing starkly divided opinions?

/>    To get a reaction, Isaac Kaplan-Woolner called the group sponsoring I-502, New Approach

WA.
