Rain Dampens Firelines in Nahahum Canyon

August 31, 2010

Rains and cooler temperatures helped firefighters battling the Wenatchee River Complex fire.

Sara Foster, speaking for the type 2 incident management team, says rain and hail was falling on the fire. The

area above mp 6 remains under a level three evacuation. Sheriff Mike Harum says only one homeowner refused to

leave the area but that resident is located at the lower part of the level three area. The fire remains

uncontained and its being fought by over 250 firefighters. The Wenatchee  River Complex Fire started Friday

afternoon and spread south close to the crest of Birch Mountain. One unoccupied structure destroyed but there

have been no reported serious injuries.
