Puyallup Woman Killed in Vehicle Pedestrian Accident

a Puyallup woman was killed when she was

struck by a motorist who reportedly fell asleep while driving on Hwy 97-A just south of Chelan. State Troopers say

the accident occured around 11:50 this (Fri) morning just south of Lakeside Park when 69 year old John Batjer lost

control of his car after falling asleep. The car drifted into the southbound lane and then onto the shoulder where

it struck a guardrail. The victim, identified as 30 year old Lisa Palmer was dead at the scene after she was

struck while walking along the southbound shoulder. Badjer, who's from Redmond, and his passenger, were not
