The Chelan PUD held its second public hearing
on the 2012 budget, first presented November 7th. Overall, financial managers expect next year to be a significant
improvement over years past, thanks in part to long term power contracts.
Isaac Kaplan-Woolner has more on
the budgeting process.
O’Bryan added that it is “really critical” that 2012 brings positive
financial results necessary to pay down debt and meet financial policies. While all signs are pointing to a good
year for the PUD, much depends on the snowpack and how that melts off into summer months.
A final budget will
be adopted by PUD commissioners December 5th.
