Precinct Committee Officer Elections Not Permitted Under State's Top Two Primary System

April 26, 2011

Washington State election laws have created

confusion in how precinct committee officers are selected. . .

The problem was brought to light during

Monday’s Chelan County Commissioner meeting. County Auditor Skip Moore informed the board that the new Top Two

primary system doesn’t provide for contests restricted to one political party. . .

Chelan County Auditor

Skip Moore also informed Commissioners that he’s also working to revise the County’s precinct boundaries to

reflect the loss of lands annexed into the Wenatchee City Limits.
