New Brush Fire Near Lake Chelan

 The 25 Mile Creek Fire, located about 25 miles from Chelan near 25 Mile Creek State Park, is now estimated at 150 acres. The fire started this afternoon around 2:30 p.m. and was reported as a structure fire. Firefighters from Washington DNR, Chelan County Fire Districts and U.S. Forest Service are responding. A heavy helicopter and a medium helicopter have been dispatched to the fire to assist ground resources now responding to the fire.
South Lakeshore Road is closed at Chelan State Park (1st Creek Road). Slide Ridge Road is closed at Windy Camp. Shady Pass is at a Level 3 for evacuations. Hales Road is at a Level 1. The 25 Mile Creek and Snowberry Campgrounds have been evacuated.
The smoke from the fire is visible from Lake Chelan. Please be aware of fire suppression traffic and air support.
