Minimum Security Inmate on the Loose

March 17, 2011

A 20

year old minimum security prisoner escaped during work detail from the Chelan County Regional Justice Center

Tuesday and is still on the loose. Jail Director Phil Stanley explains the inmate was emptying trash on work duty

outside the jail when he took off running.

The inmate, Roman Shrader, is described

as 6 ft tall, 195 pounds, with brown or hazel eyes. He is a local citizen and may be hiding out in the community.

Stanley says if anyone has information on Shrader’s whereabouts, they should call authorities at 663-

Stanley said that Shrader had finished his Department of Corrections jail sentence,

but he was still being held on 3 charges of driving with a suspended license and one count of marijuana possession

less than 40 grams. Shrader will now face a felony escape charge when he is apprehended.

/>Stanley stressed that Shrader is not considered a risk to the public. Stanley said this type of minimum security

prisoner escape happens roughly once per year.
