Fish Troubles Continue, Even for Fingerlings

Thanks to the drought conditions and hot temperatures this summer, the troubles don’t seem to end for fish throughout our region, even those at hatcheries. Even with help from agencies throughout our area, the salmon mortality rate is still exceptionally high. Dan Langager continues our look into the tough year for fish.


Runaway Trucks Prompt McNeil Canyon Ramp

A brush truck enroute to a small fire up McNeil Canyon rolled over Friday evening. Another fertilizer truck lost its brakes earlier last week. These accidents and others prompted Douglas County engineers to build an off-ramp for runaway trucks coming down the steep McNeil Canyon Road.
