Future of Leavenworth Skate Park Unclear

Due to an upcoming addition to Cascade High School, the skate park located there will be demolished. As a city-owned park, Superintendent Bill Motsenbocker tells KOHO it is not the responsibility of the school district to build a replacement.

Local Employment Update

In Chelan-Douglas Counties, the manufacturing industry lost 400 jobs in February and March, all of them former employees of Alcoa’s Wenatchee Works smelter. And those jobs are gone for good unless the plant reopens or a similar one comes to town. Other industries, like retail and leisure and hospitality, are going gangbusters.

$25,000 Prize But Best Communities Competition Over for Wenatchee Area

Arbitrator Orders Fired Sheriff's Sergeant Reinstatement

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office must reinstate Sergeant Mike Harris after a ruling by an arbitrator last week. The arbitrator said the administration was biased in their decision to terminate Harris a year ago over time sheet inconsistencies and other past policy violations.
