Leavenworth Discusses Future Of Parks Thursday

September 25, 2011

If you live in Leavenworth, do you like the parks the way they are? Are there enough lights? Too many, if

you live close by? Does the city need to buy more space to set aside, or if finances are tight, is there space

that should be sold?

You have a chance to put in your two cents this Thursday, when Leavenworth city

officials are looking for your input as they draft their master parks plan for the next 20 years or

so.

style="font-size: 14pt">City Administrator Joel Walinski and Development Services Manager Nathan Pate say the

subject matter may seem dry as the Sahara…until the park you’ve enjoyed for years may be on the

chopping block or slated for a changed purpose. In an interview with KOHO’s Clint Strand, both of them

say this meeting is a chance for folks living in the city to make their desires known in a proactive

manner.

style="font-size: 14pt">The meeting is set for this Thursday at City Hall, at

7:00pm.
