Leavenworth Chamber Director Opposes County Noise Ordinance

March 29, 2012

    Chelan County

Commissioners are considering updating their noise ordinance, which covers the unincorporated areas of the county.

The idea is to have a code that can actually be enforced, to help deal with some chronically noisy houses in the

county, according to Commissioner Keith Goehner.
    But Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce

Executive Director Nancy Smith is worried about the proposed changes to the noise ordinance. She sent out a

warning letter to chamber members this week asking them to send concerns to county commissioners.

/>    KOHO’s Isaac Kaplan-Woolner welcomed Smith into the KOHO Studios to talk about what

worries her about the proposed new noise ordinance.
Smith urged all those concerned about

the noise ordinance to contact County Commissioners, and to attend a public hearing on the issue on Monday April

2nd at Council Chambers in Wenatchee.
