Lawmakers Brace For More State Cuts

It’s beginning to

feel like Groundhog Day, a recurring nightmare, or probably both, for state legislators. Governor Chris

Gregoire announced yesterday she wants lawmakers back in Olympia after Thanksgiving to tackle a new 1.3 billion

dollar hole in the state’s budget. This, on the heels of legislators cutting over 4 billion dollars in

the last legislative session due to dismal tax returns and the ongoing recesion. KOHO’s Clint Strand

talked with Representative Cary Condotta about those cuts, where they may come from, and whether lawmakers on both

sides of the isle can cooperate and come to a
