Late Grape Season Pesents Problems for Local Winery

October 17, 2011

This year’s odd growing season is nearly done. But many wine makers are in a

tough position, still waiting to pick the bulk of their valuable harvest. Rob Newsom of Boudreaux Cellars outside

Leavenworth invited KOHO’s Isaac Kaplan-Woolner in for a tour of the winery, and to talk about the possibly

devastating consequences of such a late grape harvest, were a serious freeze to hit the state.

/>    Newsom said that even if the worst case scenario were to occur and he couldn’t get any

more grapes this season, Boudreaux Cellars would take the economic hit and soldier on.
