Land Trust Dedicates Horselake Trail

April 12, 2010

Wenatchee’s Western foothills are quickly becoming a Mecca for outdoor recreation. On Saturday

The Chelan/Douglas County Land Trust dedicated its newly opened Horselake Trail which is located on about 15-

hundred acres of sprawling sageland. Steve Hair attended the event and talked to Charlie Naismith who heads up the

Land Trust’s Trails planning committee. The 5-mile-long Horselake Trail winds its ways long the footfills

between fifth street to Horselake Road. The 15-hundred acres of land was acquired three years ago from the Wallace

and Burts families. The trail system has been developed by the Chelan/Douglas County Land Trust in partnership

with the Chelan County PUD, DNR and Federal Bureau of Land Management.
