Commissioner Goehner talks Default, Jail Contracts

November 30, 2011

Commissioner Keith Goehner is keeping a close eye on Olympia. As the special Legislative session

gets under way, state budget cuts and the Town Toyota Center debt crisis loom large. The TTC debt must be paid by

Thursday, December 1st. Local legislators are trying to broker a deal to get a loan fromt eh state to avoid

defaulting on the TTC. But time is very tight, and default could have negative impacts for the county and towns

that signed on witht the Public Facilities District. Goehner said Wenatchee should firmly have ownership of debt

on TTC.

But there is some better news for jail occupancy, with contracts signed that will

guarantee some revenue.
