Christopher WIlson Gets New Defense Attorney

A high-profile Seattle

attorney has been hired to defend Christopher Wilson, the man accused in the Murder of Wenatchee area co-ed

MacKenzie Cowell. John Henry Browne will replace public defender, Keith Howard in the case. The change was

announced Wednesday afternoon in Chelan County Superior Court after Howard withdrew himself. Browne is well known

for taking on high-profile criminal cases. He represented several defendants in the notorious Wenatchee Child Sex

abuse trials in the 1990’s. He is also presently representing Colton Harris-Moore the so-called

“Barefoot Bandit” who is awaiting trial in several burglary and robbery charges across the country.

Brown was not available for comment. He is expected to be present during a June 6th hearing for Wilson where its

expected that a new trial date will be set. It was originally slated to start May 31st but was postponed. Wilson

is charged with first degree murder in the death of Cowell.
