News & Program Director
Clint Strand has always held a love for broadcast news. He caught the bug early. At a young age, Strand could be found wandering the Portland, Oregon newsroom where a family member worked, picking the brains and threatening the deadlines of any and all reporters working there. It was here he started to learn firsthand how to tell a story. Before too long, Strand found himself many evenings listening to reporters paint mental pictures. It was only a matter of time before he picked up a brush himself.
In college Strand honed his craft, editing political coverage for the campus newspaper, holding up multiple shifts on Gonzaga’s radio station KAGU-FM, as well as calling the action for his Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s and women’s basketball teams during student broadcasts. For the record, Strand is not bitter the men’s team played their way to the Elite 8 and the national consciousness the spring after his graduation. After earning degrees in political science and journalism from GU, Strand spent his career in the beautiful Lake Chelan and Leavenworth areas, first working his way up to news director for KOZI Radio Lake Chelan, and now for KOHO 101.1. Every day, Strand enjoys telling stories about folks in the community, providing news people can use, and interviewing everyone from Governor Gregoire to Deacon Jones to Jane Goodall.
During his free time, Strand enjoys reading, learning how to cook with ingredients not named ramen, spending way too much time tweaking his fantasy football team and writing explosively mediocre love songs for his wife, Rachel.
