Conditions: Rock blasting is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday starting at 8 p.m. and is expected to last one hour or more. During blasting I-90 is closed from milepost 56, near Gold Creek to milepost 61, near Price Creek. During blasting closures there are no services eastbound past milepost 53 and westbound past milepost 70. I-90 is closed to bicycles in both directions between Hyak, exit 54 and Stampede Pass Interchange, exit 62. Bicyclists use the John Wayne Pioneer Trail.

Rick Sloan will retire as Washington State’s track and field coach after the NCAA championships, which are this week in Eugene. Sloan, who competed in the decathlon in the 1968 Olympics, came to WSU in 1973 as an assistant and has been head coach since 1994.
