Extending the Apple Capital Loop Trail

Crews broke ground yesterday on a one-mile section of a total five-mile extension to the Apple Capital Loop Trail running from the Odabashian Bridge to Lincoln Rock State Park. To talk about the ground-breaking ceremony as well as the overall extension project, Dan Langager spoke with the head of the Complete the Loop Coalition Bob Parlette.

The Leavenworth City Council is hosting a public hearing tonight at city hall at 7 pm for citizens, patrons and business owners to speak out about Oktoberfest and make recommendations for improvements. John Cummins with the Tumwater Inn Restaurant and Lounge joins us to talk about his experience with the festival over the last decade as a bartender in downtown Leavenworth.

Apple Harvest Buttoning Up this Week

The apple harvest winds down here in the apple capital. As orchardists across North Central Washington pull in the last of their fruit this week, preliminary numbers put this year’s crop as the second largest in state history, according to a storage report by the Washington Growers Clearing House in Wenatchee.
