Legal Pot Comes to the Wenatchee Valley

It’s been 20 months since Washington approved recreational marijuana through Initiative 502, including a majority of East Wenatchee voters. Now adults 21 and over can legally purchase the green at the city’s first pot shop, located on Rock Island Road. The Happy Crop Shoppe opened at 8 a.m. yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and Dan Langager was there for the grand opening.

Local Youngster Pushes Fireworks Ban

The Wenatchee and East Wenatchee city councils got somewhat of a surprise last week when 11-year-old Hope Schooley of East Wenatchee told them it's time to end fireworks within city limits. She did the work all on her own and is ready to take her concerns all the way to the state level. KOHO News Intern Bryce Newberry sat down with her to talk about her big plans for the community.
