Winter Brings End to Evening Work on Senator Sellar Bridge Construction

November 18, 2010

Work on the Senator George Sellar Bridge improvement project

won’t be finished until next year according to a report from the State DOT. Officials say The fifth lane and

pedestrian cantilever won't be done by Christmas as hoped. At least Motorists will get a break as the night time

lane closures will end until next spring. Over the winter, crews will continue to work days (as weather allows)

on steel and other work until they can pour the concrete decks next spring.
Here's the information as it

appears on the region's construction update web page:
• The 35 mph speed limit remains in effect with

narrowed lanes.
• The bridge remains closed to pedestrians:
o Mon. through Sat., LINK Transit will

provide free bus service across the bridge on trolley route 19 and bus routes 23 and 25.
