Wenatchee Commits To Building Up Rainy Day Fund, Suplus
August 24, 2012
Sunshine and blue skies may have been Mother Nature’s order for the day, but rainy days were on the minds of Wenatchee City Council members yesterday.
Specifically, rainy day funds.
City council members voted to raise preferred targets for cash surplus amounts in their coffers at yesterday’s meeting. Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kunz said the goal is to have cash for at least two months’ worth of expenses on hand…around 2.8 million dollars, along with an additional million dollars in a “rainy day fund”.
Kunz said it would likely take three to four years to hit those marks. The Mayor talked about those issues and more with KOHO’s Clint Strand on the Friday KOHO Morning Show.
