Wenatchee City Council Accepts Parkside Center Property Donation

October 24, 2009

Those seeking mental health care services in the Wenatchee Valley

will soon have available a new centralized facility thanks to a charitable donation from the owners of the

abandoned Parkside Healthcare Nursing Home. The Wenatchee City Council has formally accepted the property donation

from Carl and Betty Campbell who own and operate several elder care facilities around the state including Colonial

Vista Convalescent Center and Hearthstone Cottage in Wenatchee. The 3.5 million dollar building located on Monitor

Street will eventually be leased out to The Chelan/Douglas Regional Support Network, The Women’s Resource

Center and Columbia Valley Community Health. Steve Hair talked to an official with the Chelan/Douglas Regional

Support Network about the donation and what it means for mental health in the Wenatchee area. The Regional Support

Network and two other organizations expect to begin remodeling the buildings next spring. The Campbells opened the

Parkside Healthcare nursing home in 1954. They own Triple-C Health care services which is the parent company for

180 assisted care facilities around the state.
