Chelan County Commissioners today gave the green light for the Tuscan Village project to proceed with development along the Southshore of Lake Chelan. The board’s action brings to a close a long and contentious planning process. Fred Ross is one of the principle owners of the project. He commented on the Commissioners’ unanimous vote afterwards .
The project has been beset by legal obstacles as the land owners and the City had to resolve disputes over growth management issues involving water and sewer services.
Tuscan Village is described as a mixed use development combining energy efficient single and multi-family homes, restaurants, shops with high-end hotel and conference facilities. Its designed to compliment Lake Chelan’s growing winery tourism market. Owners are now searching for a developer to begin construction.
