This weekend was the second annual Wild and Scenic Music Festival at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth. The event raised money for the Wild and Scenic institute, which provides environmental education and outdoor recreation to special needs children.
The festival included both great regional and nationally touring acts, including headliners Danny Barnes and Caleb Klauder Country Band, up and coming Americana acts like The Local Strangers, and perennial favorites Spare Rib & the Bluegrass Sauce and Buzz Brump.
Among the many great acts were some very young performers. Isaac Kaplan-Woolner attended the Wild and Scenic Fest and was impressed by an accomplished band of 14 year olds from Seattle who call themselves The Onlies. They’ve been together for several years now, and are just starting to explore beyond the traditional music that brought them together.
Isaac asked them over to the studio to talk and strum a bit. Find out more at www.theonlies.com
