State Fire Mobilized on Douglas County Fire

State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization

Plan in support of local firefighters working to contain the Baird Springs Fire, in Grant County. Washington

State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources on September 10, 2010

at 2:00 PM at the request of Grant County Fire District # 3.

The fire started at approximately

12:30 PM on 9/10/10, fire cause is unknown. The fire has grown to an estimated 2,500 acres. There are

approximately 5 structures threatened by the fire, and there are no evacuation order in effect.

Mobilization specialists from the Fire Protection Bureau have ordered 5 Strike Teams of wildland engines, a Type

3 Incident Management Team, 3 Type 2 helicopters, 1 dozer to supplement the resources already fighting the fire.
