Its been a fifteen year battle by supporters to extend the Apple Capital Loop Trail to Lincoln Rock State park. The project has withstood a myriad of obstacles including a hard- fought court challenge by neighboring orchardists. But the project received a major boost yesterday when a regional transportation planning panel placed it at the top of a priority list for the next round of Federal Stimulus funding. The Wenatchee Valley Transportation Council selected the five-mile-long trail extension over 12 other projects in Chelan and Douglas Counties. Elliott Stull, a member of the Washington State Parks Commission, was thrilled with the decision. . .
