2009 could be a banner year for Washington’s apple industry. Growers produced over 102-million boxes of fruit last year which, in terms of volume, registers as one of the top ten crops in history. The latest numbers released by the Wenatchee Valley Traffic Association shows record movement. Traffic Association Manager, Charles Pominiak tell’s Wenatchee Bureau Chief Steve Hair that December shipments totaled over 10 million boxes of the State’s signature fruit. . . An all time record.
