Police: Folks Behaved Themselves During Apple Blossom
May 08, 2012
Another Wenatchee Apple Blossom fortnight is in the books, and families turned out in droves, having a good time. But, were the crowds behaving themselves?
Law enforcement officials say yes, especially compared to years past.
Police gambled this year, declining offers for help from outside law enforcement agencies, preferring to go it alone. Some prepared for the worst, especially with the Grand Parade day falling on the “Cinco de Mayo” holiday. Wenatchee Police Sergeant Kevin Dresker said police made less than 45 arrests last weekend…a huge drop when you consider police made over 450 as recently as 2008 over the same weekend.
You can hear Dresker’s full conversation with KOHO’s Clint Strand above.
