Peshastin Mill Site Update

Preservation of 14 acres of Wenatchee River shoreline along the old Peshastin Mill Site took a big step last week. The Complete the Loop Coalition reached an agreement with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for the department to take on oversight of the land once the Coalition purchases it from the Port of Chelan County.


Grant PUD Extending Broadband Network

The Grant County PUD’s High Speed Network, under a pilot project in the Quincy Valley for over a year, is now heading to more rural areas of the county. At least seven new locations are on tap in 2015. For more, Dan sits down with Chuck Allen of the Grant PUD.

PUD Holding Hearing on Moratorium

Big meeting this afternoon for businesses wanting to use significant amounts of Chelan County hydropower for their facilities. Chelan PUD commissioners put a moratorium in place Dec. 15 on accepting applications for new electric services of one average megawatt. Today’s regular PUD board meeting is also a hearing on that moratorium.
