Leavenworth City Councilmembers voted last night to approve the demolition estimate from Pipkin Construction to take down the old Leavenworth Fruit Warehouse along Highway 2. The timeline for demolition estimates the building will likely come down in early November.
The future of the fruit warehouse building, iconic to some, an eyesore to many others, has been a point of discussion for decades. Leavenworth Mayor Cheri Farivar said the majority of the land will be used for parking, with owner Brian Nelson keeping some of the land for development.
KOHO’s Clint Strand chatted with Farivar and City Administrator Joel Walinski about the warehouse and other issues during the KOHO Morning Show.
