The worst of the disaster that struck the Lake Wenatchee area has passed. Power is back on for all but the final few, and roads have been cleared of the hundreds of falling trees that made work so hazardous for public works and PUD crews.
The long hours put in by county crews finally paid off. But those hours also ate up the county’s entire overtime budget. And there is a lot of winter clean up still ahead.
