Two people were injured when their car collided with an apple-hauling big rig yesterday along Hwy 28 south of Rock Island. It happened around 8:20 in the morning. The crash forced the closure of the highway for several hours. A State patrol report says 65 year old Thomas Emsley of Wenatchee was driving to fast for the icy conditions when his vehicle slid across the center line striking the Semi driven by 45 year old Daniel Eddy. Emsley and his passenger, 40 year old Luann Keene, also from Wenatchee, both sustained multiple injuries. They were taken to Central Washington Hospital for treatment. Eddy, a resident of New York, was unhurt. The roadway was reopened at 11:30.
