For now, the proposed dam and pump house system on the Icicle River is on hold. It is unclear if the estimated $10
million project will proceed as proposed, or if Fish and Wildlife will go back to the drawing board
dollars are off the table because of engineering problems that delayed the water intake project.

those engineering problems are not insurmountable, but they could not be solved in time to qualify for the
stimulus funding. However, Croci says they will still work towards making improvements to the aging 70 year old
hatchery, and will be included in some form of public process. For now, the delayed draft Environmental Assessment
of the current project is also on hold.
