Hanford Challenge Lauds Inslee Response to Nuclear Leak
February 18, 2013
The discovery of a new leak at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation is of great concern, said Gov. Jay Inslee in a press conference Friday. The leak is putting out an estimated 2-300 gallons of high level radioactive waste into the soils of the Hanford site, near the banks of the Columbia River. Inslee said the state will do everything in its power to ensure the federal government deals with the leak and meets its responsibilities at Hanford.
To get a reaction to the Governor’s press conference, Isaac Kaplan-Woolner called Hanford Challenge executive Director Tom Carpenter.
