Continuing our coverage of state Initiative 522, in this three-part series, our own Dan
Langager dives into the heated, and costly, debate over labeling genetically engineered foods. Monday’s
first installment covered the main tenets of the For and Against campaigns with representatives from the two
contentious coalitions. In Tuesday's second report, Dan explored how this initiative could affect farmers, and
how they fund and deliver their products. In today’s third installment, Dan uncovers who’s been
funding the campaigns for and against 522 and whether or not Washington is at risk in leading the charge on
labeling genetically engineered foods.
