East Wenatchee Hosts Urban Expansion Public Workhop

In an effort to include citizen input in the development of East

Wenatchee’s Urban Growth Area, the city and Douglas County hosted a public workshop last night to discuss

the Urban Growth Area boundaries, mainly in an eastward expansion, its land uses and design


 East Wenatchee Community Development Director Lori Barnett said the city of

East Wenatchee is in the process of amending their comprehensive plan governing the city’s development and

Urban Growth boundaries.

About 40 East Wenatchee citizens attended the third Urban Growth Area

expansion public workshop, held at the City Council Chambers.

questions, reviewed the previous workshops’ deliberations and explored ideas on developing rural areas of

the city. The meeting culminated in the attendees forming a preliminary preferred plan that will be presented to the City
