The Department of Natural Resources has filed a lawsuit to recover
the costs of putting out the Taylor Bridge fire that occured August 13, 2012. The lawsuit, filed in
seeking over $5 million in the recovery claim, about half of the total suppression cost of the
Over $11 million was expended by the DNR and through the
marshal mobilizing further aid. More than 23,000 acres burned, along with 61 homes, at the intersection of State
Highway 10 and
of Cle Elum.
The DNR’s investigation of the incident stated the
cause of origin clearly indicates negligence on the part of Conway Construction and Rainier Steel.
