Chelan County Commissioners Adopt No Frills Budget

Chelan County Commissioners will be tightening the purse strings again next year with a no frills

budget. The 30.6 million dollar spending plan was adopted Tuesday but no one in the Commissioners’ chambers

was in a celebratory mood. The final budget plan continues a series of austerity measures that were put into place

this year. Commission Chairman, Doug England told Wenatchee Bureau Chief Steve Hair spoke that until the economy

emerges from recession you can expect more belt tightening for the foreseeable future . .
