Could the 15 dollar car tab tax return to Douglas County? Commissioner Ken Stanton says its possible given Federal and State Budget constraints . . The County voluntarily removed its local option car license fee following the statewide vote on Tim Eyman’s 30-dollar cartab tax initiative several years ago. Commissioners are now apparently ready to revisit that as a way to fund local road maintenance. . .Stanton says it could be used to leverage for State and Federal road funding . . This week Commissioners met with one of U-S Senator Maria Cantwell’s aides to discuss transportation issues. Among them is the Chief Joseph Dam Bridge which is in serious need of repair . . The Chief Joseph Dam Bridge project costs have been estimated at about 2 and a half million dollars.
