Swallow Fest: It boasts one of the region’s shortest parades sporting tractors, mules, and 4-wheelers. The queen wears a crown made of beer cans and rides a pickup truck float with a giant painted plywood swallow named Herbie. There are plenty of beers and cowboy hats and a whole lot of fun for the whole family.
Isaac Kaplan-Woolner attended the proudly quirky Ardevoir Swallow Festival on Saturday, now in it’s 35th year.
Parade music heard in this piece was performed by the Entiat Marching Band.
