ACLU Takes on Law Enforcement Drones

The issue of remote controlled drones being used by law enforcement agency for surveillance and other activities has been a hot topic in Washington State. Recently, the ACLU of Washington and numerous citizens spoke out against Seattle’s plans to begin using 2 drones in the city. The city decided not to use the drone program after all.
And Representative Cary Condotta announced on KOHO on Friday that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are looking to preemptively put in place some limits and privacy protections before other law enforcement agencies in the state begin using drones of their own.
To talk about the issue of police drones, surveillance, and what the future might hold, Isaac Kaplan-Woolner spoke with ACLU spokesman Doug Hoenig.
