Gay marriage became legal in Washington state on December 6th, after 54% of voters upheld referendum 74 in the November election. Now, same sex couples across Washington are free to legally marry and have their unions recognized by the state.
Barb Andre and Lori Van Lith from East Wenatchee have been together for a long time. In fact, as we find out in today’s interview, they got married 10 years ago. But they are excited to marry again and become wed legally in the eyes of the law.
Isaac Kaplan-Woolner asked the couple how getting legally married will feel different, and why they see this as an important victory for their family
