The Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center is offering their Washington Mediation Association approved 40-hour Basic Mediation Training course. This course teaches the process of mediation, communication skills, and conflict dynamics that will help you deal with conflict and its resolution, in your workplace, home, or in your community. This interactive course will explore skills that can be used in all aspects of your life. Trainees who have completed the Basic course are eligible to begin a mediation practicum to become a certified mediator.

Leavenworth Winter Sports Club Snow Dance aucton

This year's Snow Dance Benefit Auction is being held from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Enzian Inn, 590 Highway 2, in Leavenworth. Enjoy dinner, libations, a live auction, a silent auction, and entertainment, including a Snow Dance that will hopefully lead to a very white winter! Cost is $45 per person or $325 for a table of 8. Auction proceeds will be used for trail improvements, to buy grooming equipment for low-snow conditions, and to support the Leavenworth Junior Nordic Club.

Washington’s Wildlife in a Changing Climate: Why species are on the move, and how we can help them get where they’re going

A key way that plants and animals respond to climate change is to adjust their ranges to stay within the climatic conditions that are suitable for them, even as climate change causes those areas to move across the landscape. Dr. Meade Krosby, with UW's Climate Impacts Group, will discuss observed and predicted future changes in the distribution and composition of Washington’s wildlife and ecosystems, what scientists and land and wildlife managers are doing to promote the resilience of Washington’s wildlife and natural landscapes, and what you can do to help.
